Here’s my latest Hand tooled leather leash ready for this show season. If you were wondering where I am located the answer is New Castle Delaware USA. 60 seconds from Delaware Memorial Bridge.
This leash is 1″ wide and has 40+” of tooling, all hand stitched with edges burnished to perfection. Oiled, airbrushed in multiple layers of British tan finally a top poly type finish. All leather articles require an ongoing maintenance regime ie. A quality leather conditioner/dressing assists removing dirt, replenishing natural oils etc… I have to say that but this poly finish I use on all projects in addition to a finish that has a UV protecting additive is remarkably adherent. A collar that I just couldn’t get the turquoise color correct ut um…. 5th time was a winner.. After applying finish to one of the scrap yard pieces I soaked into hot water and scrubbed 45 minutes with a stainless steel scrub thing in an attempt to remove finish from collar. I barely breached it. I might as well say I used a hand-held grinder to it and breached the finish. I did this for my knowledge so I could know hands down I am bringing to my clients not just a unique leather item but an heirloom possibly.
Where there it is my friends, my latest leash of which I quickly admit, I am no photographer and shows better than any picture I can take:}
P.S. The leash has a solid brass snap with a brilliant chrome plating. Should anyone have further questions concerning this piece, having a custom-made collar, matching leash, belt and beyond drop a line to –> acrossleathercollars@gmail.com or comment here.
Have a great day everyday!
